Woooooooow! Today after thousands of hours practicing yoga, Manish gave us a physiologic explanation of the importance of breathing and how THIS is the crux of the connection to the mind. Breathing is a function of the body that is involuntary until we step in to control it. So this is the real point of connection of body and mind. We learned that holding the breath slows down the thoughts. It is an easy experiment. Try it! Breathe in, HOLD.... hold, hold.... you will see your thoughts stop, breath out.... and that is the secret of meditation. This has been the most amazing discovery in my life, I want to sit down and try it all the time. Holding the breath gives you the really look inside yourself!
I used it through our today's very tough vinyasa and .... well it helped. I still felt like dying some times, but I made it all the way through....
